Christie Brinkley was discovered by an American photographer when standing in a Post Office in Paris. Her blonde, all-American girl image transported her back to her native California where she began modelling professionally.
Brinkley achieved a first – appearing on three consecutive Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition covers. More of a commercial model, she has appeared on over 500 magazine covers throughout her career, and has been the face of many major cosmetic brands.
As well as modelling, Brinkley wrote books, appeared in films and designed a range of eyewear.
