Tom Brady is the most talked about quarterback in NFL ever since he started off with New England Patriots in 2000. However, he is also the most underpaid. In fact, he is not even in the top 15 highest paid NFL player.
So, what happened?
Brady was one of the highest paid until he had to reconstruct his contract because of the Deflategate scandal in 2014. The investigation and litigation took as long as seven months.
Before that, he was paid $28 million per year. That number goes down to just $1 million today. However, he still earned a total of $44 million last year from bonuses and endorsements. That is a great number to be added into his $160 million net worth.
That should be no surprise for Brady’s caliber. He has won the Super Bowl four times and clinched the MVP awards twice. And he has made 428 touchdowns and 150 interceptions so far.
