2. Roger Staubach – $600 million
Back in the 1970s, Roger Staubach was a quarterback for Dallas Cowboys. Now 74 years of age, he has built his own money machine in real estate business, The Staubach Company.
With $600 million of estimated net worth today, he is definitely one of the real estate moguls. But how much did he make from playing football? He was paid for around $15,000 per week ($55,000 today) by the Cowboys. It doesn’t seem much, but it was a lavish income back then.
Staubach attended the U.S. Naval Academy where he won a Heisman Trophy. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy, including a tour of duty in Vietnam.
As a player, he led the Cowboys to win the Super Bowl in 1972 (VI) and 1978 (XII). Throughout his one decade of football career, he made 153 touchdowns and 109 interceptions.
