James Packer was born on September 8 1967 in Sydney. He is the son of Roslyn and late media mogul Kerry Francis Bullmore Packer. Also he is the grandson of Sir Frank Packer, an Australian media proprietor who controlled Australian Consolidated Press.
After the death of his father in 2005, James Packer inherited a $5 billion business based on media assets.
In 2012 he sold the pay-TV company Consolidated Media Holdings to Newscorp at the price of 1$billion and started o focus more on his gaming empire Crown Ltd. Crown is one of Australia’s largest entertainment and resort groups.
James Packer owns casinos in Australia and has a joint venture, Melco Crown Entertainment, in Macau and Manila with Lawrence Ho.
Also, James operates a charitable foundation named for his father.
