Born in Greece but a British national, Aristotelis Mistakidis is a businessman with a net worth of $2.3 billion.
In 1993, after 6 years working in non-ferrous metals for Cargill, he joined Marc Rich & Co. Shortly after, the new firm was renamed Glencore.
In May 2011, Aristotelis Mistakidis attained billionaire status with the IPO of Glencore.
Ten years after joining Glencore as a marketer, the billionaire succeeded Ivan Glasenberg as director of the company’s coal and coke commodity department.
The following February, Glencore announced plans to merge with Xstrata, a mining outfit and the deal was completed in May 2013.
With more than $225 billion (sales) commodities, the company is well-positioned for future growth. And to grow its upstream oil business, it plans a $650 million in capital investment.
