He is the majority shareholder of French cosmetics retailer L’Occitane. Everybody know L’Occitane for its soaps, creams and perfumes that celebrate and preserve the traditions of Provence.
L’Occitane was founded in 1976 in Provence by a literature student, Olivier Baussan, who purchased an old steam distiller to produce rosemary oil which he sold at local markets and then started manufacturing cosmetic and fragrance products based on natural ingredients using old recipes.
They are also known for being one of the few companies in the world that uses Braille on their packaging, hence making its products available to the blind.
So, when Geiger decided to invest in this company in 1994, he made the best decision of his life.
At this moment his net worth is estimated at $1.4 Billion.
