Although he is one of the richest people in Mexico, Ricardo Salinas Pliego’s fortune dropped $1.6 billion over the past year.
The 58-year-old billionaire, who owns retail, banking and TV businesses, has now a net worth of $7.5 billion.
He owns retail and banking enterprise, Grupo Elektra, and has stakes in TV broadcaster Television Azteca, which he bought from the government in 1993.
Salinas Pliego also owns Mexico’ 3rd-largest mobile company, Grupo Iusacell.
