After being India’s second richest person for seven years in a row, he is now only No. 5.
He is the chairman and CEO of ArcelorMittal, the world’s largest steelmaking company. He also was the sixth richest person in the world in 2011.
His father, Mohan Lal Mittal, ran a steel business, Nippon Denro Ispat and in 1976, when he was 26 years old, Lakshmi opened his first steel factory PT Ispat Indo in Sidoarjo, Indonesia.
He is also a well known philanthropist, having made big donations in sports, education and medicine.
At this moment, his net worth is estimated at $15.8 Billion.
