Petter Stordalen surely loves hotels! His company Nordic Choice Hotels runs more than 170 hotels with 11 more under construction. The hotel tycoon inaugurated The Thief, a 119 luxury waterfront hotel in Oslo which has an impressive collection of contemporary art, in 2013.
He was a part of the investor group that created Sektor, Scandinavia’s largest shopping mall company.
Stordalen is quite an eccentric person. He chained himself for 9 hours to U.K. nuclear treatment plant Sellafield in a protest in 2012, and he rebuilt his car to be the world’s first bio-fueled Ferrari. He also rode his helicopter on the top of a building and then came down running on the side of the building while wearing a harness, when he opened the Clarion in Stockholm’s Arlanda airport
In 2010 he married his wife spending $5 million on the wedding, after proposing to her on the top of a mountain in 2008.
