Arne Wilhelmsen’s Royal Caribbean Cruises is the second largest cruise company after Carnival, having 22 vessels visiting 270 destinations in 72 countries.
The company was hit by bad publicity in January 2014, after one of the vessels, Explorer of the Seas, shorted its cruise because the crew members and passengers got sick with symptoms consistent with norovirus.
Wilhelmsen retired from leading the company, his son Alex taking his place in 2003.
