Well, this self made billionaire started everything in 1967, when he and his brother Jorge founded Jose Rodríguez Banda SA, a transport company named after their father that provided services for mining companies.
Things were working well, so in 1986 they expanded the company and bought Gloria SA, Peru’s largest producer of canned evaporated milk.
Although 60% of the company belonged to the Swiss multinational company Nestlé, they ended up giving up they share to, convinced by Alan García’s, then-president of Peru.
Gloria became a very successful company and it has bought a number of other companies.
At this moment his net worth is estimated to be $1.3 Billion.
