The first woman in our top comes from a very wealthy Peruvian family.
She is the daughter of Fortunato Brescia Tassano, the man that built a real estate company that capitalized on Lima’s growth.
His legacy is a group of companies named Grupo Brescia with interests in agriculture, fish products, cement, paint products, explosives, welding, insurance, banking, mining and real estate.
She wasn’t directly involved in the company. When her father died in 1951, she put her husband in charge and he managed Grupo Brescia until he died in 2004. After that point, her son Alex Fort Brescia managed it.
Today, she and her five children own 30% of the company.
At this moment her net worth is estimated to be $1.6 Billion.
