Billy Joel
William Martin “Billy” Joel is second most richest pianist in the world and one of the most active and famous for his piano career with a net worth of 160 million dollars.
The famous piano player, song-writer, singer and composer was raised in a music family where his father was the main figure who taught him the piano because he was a classical pianist.
To his early life he added teachers like the noted American pianist Morton Estrin and musician Timothy Ford, but a time music made him a hard life being bullied because he liked music more than sports. After a brief boxing career, he started school and played the piano to help his mother with money.
By now he was a very good piano player and work was interfering with his graduation and grades making him short a couple of credits, but that didn’t stop him to pursue his dream to enroll in Columbia University and then to join Columbia Records.
The major deal that made him start a long piano and singing career was his first solo album, Cold Spring Harbor with Family Productions recording company which was a total disaster. But some songs where heard on the radio by an executive at Columbia and he managed a contract there, moment when he started to grow and be more and more successful.
