Born in North Dakota, USA, Cameron Jibril Thomaz, by his real name, travels around the world a lot because his parents were in the military and so he has lived in many countries like Germany, U.K, Japan and then back to the US where he attended Taylor Allderdice High School.
His stage name originated from an Arabic word and a shortage form “wiz” which he later tattooed on his body at the age of 17.
Debuting in 2005 with a mix tape and a record deal, he later signed with Warner Bros Records who gave him all the knowledge he needed to sign with Atlantic Records.
Since 2010 he has grown like an artist and received the fame for his many singles and collaborations.
His first single, “Black and Yellow” was the song which marked his mainstream success, after that Wiz managing to score more collaborations than he ever dreamed of.
