Born in 1935 in Los Angeles, Herb Alpert is an American musician and music industry executive. Herb Alpert’s net worth is estimated around $850 million.
Herb began taking trumpet lessons at the age of eight. Since 1957, he began writing and recording music for the first time professionally. This guy even built a small recording studio in his garage, and wrote several top 20 songs, with his musician friend Rob Weerts.
He is probably famous for founding the band “Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass”. When he was attending a bullfight in Mexico, in the early ’60s, Herb came up with the idea for his signature sound, after hearing a bass there.
That idea was so great and unique that in 1966, his band outsold The Beatles, selling more than 13 million albums.
So far, Herb has won eight Grammys and in total has sold more than 75 million albums worldwide.
