13. Savitri Jindal ($4.2 billion)
Savitri Jindal is the owner of O.P Jindal group companies. It is one of the biggest companies of steel and power in India.
The company suffered from loss recently. She has lost in total of $10 billion in the past five years, mostly from the downward slide in her companies’ shares.
The loss may not be entirely her fault though. Her sons have been running the companies since the passing of her late husband.
The 66-years-old widow is now living in Hisar, India. Despite the loss, things seem to get better. By the end of 2015, she owns a total of $3.5 billion net worth. This put her as the 453th billionaire in the world and the 23rd in India. But now, she has $4.2 billion of net worth and climbing up to India’s 16th richest.
