Ever since we saw Marty McFly levitating on shamelessly pink hoverboard in Back to the Future 2 (1989), we’ve dreamed of the day when we’ll be able to do the same.
With the arrival of 2015, the year in the future that our McFly travels to, we expected nothing less than to see our dreams come true.
Now we’re watching it happening in front of our eyes, and the bellwethers of this awesome trend are none other than our favorite celebs. Let’s see who does it best.
Of course Kendall Jenner will be among the first to ride this futuristic skateboard. She posted an image of herself getting a bit too excited about her new ride, but let’s be honest, who wouldn’t be? Balancing it was not her forte, but that did not keep her from having a smile on her face.
Unlike Kendall, Chris Brown rode his self-balancing scooter not only inside his house, but practically everywhere, because, you know, walking is so lame, now that the future has arrived. He was even spotted riding his hoverboard from studio to his parked Lamborghini.
The pop sensation Justin Bieber just cannot get enough of his fantastic hoverboard Segway and he rides it all the time – even when he is on a plane. Smart idea for on-flight entertainment, right? The cutest use of this fun mean of transport is for playtime with his baby brother Jaxon.
The big guy did buy the hoverboard for his daughter, but he could not resist trying it out. We can all agree that it would be better for Milan to ride it, though. The boxing legend tweeted a clip of him trying to ride it. At first it was all going well as Tyson was spinning the board, but then he kind of lost control and crashed to the floor, leaving his daughter unpleasantly surprised.
Django went truly unchained when he made a great entrance at Jimmy Fallon’s show. Not only did he own the scene, but he also talked in one of America’s favorite TV hosts to try it as well, and we must add, Fallon is a natural.
Almost all of the previous mentions had their ups and downs (well, mostly downs) while riding the half Segway, half skateboard, but Skrillex is born to ride this babe. He did have one clumsy moment, but we must hand it to him – he succeeded in doing a 180 jump on a hoverboard.
This is the one celeb that had to pay a high price for his hoverboard craze. The rapper got in big trouble on Los Angeles airport, when custom officials apprehended him after he refused to get off his hoverboard. Although there was no record of the arrest, Wiz Khalifa posted a video of the whole thing with the comment “All because I didn't want to ditch the technology everyone will be using in the next 6 months.”
Criminal Minds star is spotted riding his hoverboard scooter backstage. The sexy actor looks even better than usual while balancing his new ride in a casual, yet stylish combination of dark jeans, black ankle boots, burgundy t-shirt.
The English singer has a case of obvious hoverboard crush, since she has a couple of these rides. She became so skillful on it that she can pull off a quite decent dancing act inside her house, while eating breakfast.
Hoverboards have become a huge hit from the moment they were presented to public, at the beginning of the previous year. It was not long after, that many of the A-listers started showing off their board skills on social media, and it seems to us, they’re just getting started.
