Rooms Wrapped In Famous Paintings
We see art every day, everywhere, without even realising it, and most definitely we are used to seeing famous paintings hanged on museum walls.

Yes, you heard that right. Digital artist Jon Rafman is working on a project called BNPJ – Brand New Paint Job – and he uses modern paintings to wrap entire rooms with them.
Painters such as Francis Bacon, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Marc Chagall and Picasso have their artwork displayed in the amazing rooms.
The rooms are 3D models taken from Google 3D Warehouse, which is an online platform that helps artists which use Google Sketchup to upload and share their projects.

Quite modern and avant-garde isn’t it? A lot of colour is used to create these rooms, strong shades of yellow contrasting with electric blue and fresh white.
The soft shades of pink and red give these rooms a certain warmth, while harmonically mixing with other strong colours.
Jon Rafman’s artwork is based on what art means in the contemporary world. He says:
“I’m exploring the line between art and design”
How would you find studying in such a colourful and busy room? How about travelling in a psychedelic train?
The designer describes his project as:
“BNPJ Interiors started off as a play on interior design chic”
As you can see, not all the rooms are brightly coloured. The artist plays with darker shades of blue and grey as well, by using lines as a way to create and add texture to the Rooms Wrapped In Famous Paintings.
“Historically, the greatest fear of the painter was that his work would become design objects.”
The artist is well-known for his Google Street View photos.
His work was displayed between March 6 and March 9 2014 at The Armony Show, in New York.
