Rowan Atkinson Crashed His McLaren F1 Twice But Succeeded In Selling It For The Price Of £8million

Yes, you heard it right! The famous actor Rowan Atkinson just sold his awesome McLaren F1 supercar for the price of £8.000.000 in one of Britain’s biggest car deals.

Rowan Atkinson bought his remarkable McLaren F1  in 1997 at the price of £640,000 and since than he crashed it twice. You may think that a thing like that would lower the price, but in fact the two crashes raised its value, taking a profit of  £7,3.000.000 in Rowan’s pockets.

The McLaren F1 is one of only 64 ever built and Rowan put it on the car market with the help of Taylor & Crawley, a specialist car dealer owned by David Clark, the formerly director of McLaren.

The McLaren F1 is the fastest non-turbocharged car in the world, delivering 3.2 seconds at 0-62 mph. This super car also features a an engine bay lined with 25 g of gold foil.

In case you didn’t know, the famous actor owns a remarkable car collection with names like Jaguar Mk7, vintage Ford Falcon, Aston Martin DB2, Honda NSX, a 1939 BMW 328 and a Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe.

In the show ” Top Gear: Star in a reasonably priced car ” Rowan Atkinson delivered the second quickest time on the track, overcoming Formula 1 drivers that appeared on the show like Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel and others.

When asked about the McLaren F1 sale Rowan replied : ” I bought it for the quality of the thinking that went into its design, and now it has become a thing of value it is time for it to be enjoyed by someone else.

I am absolutely positive that Rowan is very happy regarding the sale and of course, the huge profit. Also, it seems that this super car will stay in Britain : ” Everyone is very pleased with the sale. There was interest from around the world and it has gone to a British buyer who will drive it like Rowan did. ” – David Clark, formerly a director at McLaren.
