Salter Point House – A Luxury Renovation of A 1960s Home By Mountford Architects in Australia

My nearest and dearest Ealuxe readers, today we are going to see another great example of luxury renovation from Mountford Architects. The residence is called the Salter Point House and it’s located in Salter Point, Western Australia.

As I said earlier the project consisted in renovating a 1960s home and transforming it in a marvelous, modern residence.

The new center of the residence is the kitchen area ” where the clients would fulfill their love of entertaining. ” One of the most exclusive features of the Salter Point House is the open gabled roof with large stone walls.

” Externally, the cantilevers in the roof at the front and back of the home were achieved with a pre-tensioned ridge beam. This created two generous eave overhangs that shade the floor-toceiling glazing, creating attractive back and front porches. ”

The Salter Point House also features marvelous floor-to-ceiling doors, beautiful gardens, plenty of living space, Carrara stone benchtops, travertine stone walls, brushbox floorin, elevated deck and fire pit.

” For Ben Mountford of Mountford Architects, this particular project was more of a rebuild than a renovation. The original 1960s home was to be reinvented in a modern, stylish design that flowed effortlessly from front to back, combining all living areas on one level rather than the previous two. ”
