Lake Natron
Near the Tanzanian-Kenyan border, we found natures way of scaring us to death, a place where life isn’t permitted and where you could see how calm death is.
Mother Nature’s way of telling us we are killing the planet is pretty scary and Lake Natron in Tanzania is a gruesome place to visit.
The lake has a pretty amazing death toll of animal every year, just passing by, you could see mummified birds who were killed by the lakes poisonous waters and fumes.
The lake colours, it’s self into blood-red once in a while, due to bacteria and algae, but the interesting fact is that under its waters the level of sodium, the high temperatures and the toxic fumes, make life impossible on it, everything coming in contact with the lake water and the air surfacing the place is going to pay the price, being mummified in a short period of time.
Considered mother natures way of telling us that it can turn on us and show us its power, Lake Natron is pretty scary considering the fact that visiting it could cost your life.
