9. Love-hate relationship with James Bond
James Bond is what Sean Connery best known for. That 007 name seems to stick around wherever he goes. Even in some point of his life, he was pulled over for speeding by an officer named Sergeant James Bond.
Considering this is the role he has been most successful with, you would have thought he adores the character like most of his fans do. Surprisingly, Sean once said, “I have always hated that damn James Bond. I’d like to kill him.”
Perhaps he said that in a manner of joking. Because he kept coming back on his James Bond role even twenty years after his first James Bond movie. Then he finally called it quit. And this time, he said something wiser about the character:
“I never disliked Bond, as some have thought. Creating a character like that does take a certain craft. It’s simply natural to seek other roles.”
