8. Near death experience
Unfortunately, his James Bond extravaganza didn’t come for free. Apart from all the big salary he got, and the ladies he met, he got something else from playing this role: a near death experience.
Sean claimed that the 1963 From Russia with Love is his favorite James Bond movie among all seven he played. Ironically, that is the movie he was almost killed in the making.
Those of you who have watched the movie would definitely remember the helicopter chase scene. It is one of the most exciting scenes in the movie. And it was indeed exciting, once for a way different reason.
One of the helicopter pilots was happened to be inexperienced. He flew his helicopter too close to Sean. And the helicopter’s rotor blade almost decapitated Sean. Boy, that would’ve been an ugly story.
