7. Wimbledon (Tennis): $2.66 million (£1.88 million)
The fact that tennis is an individual sport (or double), the cash prize is automatically awarded to one player only. Wimbledon, one of the top grand slams of tennis tournament, provides a £1.88 million (approximately $2.66 million) cash prize for single player winner.
For both Men’s Singles and Women’s Singles, Wimbledon set equal amount of cash prize. The players who finish on the 1st round will get £29,000 each.
The prize goes higher from £47,000 for 2nd round, £77,000 for 3rd round, £127,000 for 4th round, £241,000 for Quarter Final, £470,000 for Semi Final, £940,000 for Runner Up, and of course the £1.88 million grand cash prize.
For other numbers, such as Men’s or Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles, the cash prize varies. For both Men’s and Women’s Doubles winner, the cash prize is £340,000. Wimbledon also has two unique numbers, the Invitational Legends (with £100,000 cash prize) and the Wheelchair (with £22,000 cash prize).
