The St Pancras Penthouse is a three-bedroom, three-floor apartment in the west tower of the Grade I listed St Pancras Chambers in London, redesigned by Thomas Griem and TG Studio for client Arran Patel. It is one of three penthouses created when Manhattan Loft Corporation converted the upper floors of the former Midland Grand Hotel into apartments between 2005 and 2011.

What is the St Pancras Penthouse?
The St Pancras Penthouse is an elegant attic apartment in one of the best-known buildings in London. TG Studio delivered a three-bedroom home surrounded by textured oak and earthy elements, designed at the request of its owner, Arran Patel.
Thomas Griem is the founder and director of TG Studio, a RIBA member studio in Hampstead that describes itself as a luxury interior architecture and design practice.
” TG-Studio has transformed this 3 bedroom penthouse located in the grade 1 listed St Pancras chambers. The apartment is one of three penthouses in the 52 unit development by the Manhattan loft corporation. It covers the top three floors of the west tower of this famous London landmark. ”
How is the penthouse laid out?
Because the interiors are listed, the original floor plan had to be broadly kept. The master bedroom is open plan and visually connected with the triple height living room. If you prefer privacy, an electrically operated curtain can close it off.
The master suite has a bathroom with a bespoke double sink, a flush TV and a large shower. Reports also describe small turret bathrooms clad in Arabescato marble.
The entertaining space is on the middle and lower floors of the penthouse, which suits dinner parties and social gatherings. A staircase with oak veneer and plain glass connects the floors.
The standout feature is described as “the staircase who consists of a bridge that connects to a library which is cantilevering the main part of the staircase.“
What did the designers say next?
The designers later said: “Thomas and Arran have enjoyed this project so much that they are now looking to working together creating luxurious places. They are currently looking in London and New York for their next project under a joint banner”. We have not found a project from that partnership, so treat it as an intention from that time.
What is St Pancras Chambers today?
The building opened as the Midland Grand Hotel in 1873, was used as railway offices from 1935 into the 1980s, and was redeveloped between 2005 and 2011. The hotel reopened on March 14, 2011, and since June 3, 2025 it has operated as St. Pancras London, Autograph Collection, with the upper floors holding private apartments.
