7Pointy Boots
The trend of wearing these ugly boots started in the Mexican town of Matehuala in 2009.
A mysterious man in northeastern Mexico named “Cesar of Huizache” started sporting extreme footwear—sequined boots with 3 to 4 foot foam extensions that curled at the tips. The fad spread among the younger generation, and has since become associated with dance competitions and fashion-conscious cliques of club kids.
There are also some dudes who just make them by themselves with a garden hose. The trend has even spread to areas with plentiful Matehualan migrants, like Dallas, Tennessee, and Oklahoma.
