The strangest music instruments in the world

4.

Huaca

Number 4 on the list of the strangest music instruments has a strange form and an unusual name.

This instrument is made out of clay, molded in three vessels who are joined to the top by a mouthpiece, that splits so you can play more than one sound at a time.

The idea came to Sharon Rowel in 1980 and after a couple of years of research and testing he patented the instrument.

But he wasn’t the first to release music made by the huaca.

This weird instrument, which produces sound that resembles the noise the waves make in a piano like fashion, was played introduces to the public by Alan Tower, the first huaca composer and the man who released the first CD with the strange instrument.

Resembling the lungs and the hearth, the instrument has three chambers, each tuned to a different key, which are tempered like the piano keys, making it sound like an odd shaped flute.
