4Berlin Atonal, Germany
Founded in 1982 by Dimitri Hegemann, the sonic and visual art festival Berlin Atonal was throughout the 1980s at the vanguard of the progressive electronic and experimental music and art scenes in Berlin.
Originally held at SO36 in Kreuzberg, it was relaunched at a new location in 2013, in an abandoned powerplant in Berlin-Mitte.
Last year, Berling Atonal saw experimental sets by Milton Bradley, Dasha Rush, Headless Horseman, Bleed Turquoise and Dalhous, Tim Hecker, plus the Berlin debut of the 4DSOUND system.
The highlights of this festival are clearly the setting, visuals and the sound system.
