3. Koenigsegg Agera
With only three more models left on the list, we move on to the mid-engined sports car made by Swedish car manufacturer Koenigsegg, the Agera.
The name Agera comes from the Swedish verb ‘agera’ which means “to act” or “to take action”, which is pretty cool.
Fitted with an in-house developed 5.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, and with a power output of 940 hp, the Koenigsegg Agera accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (0–62 mph) in just 3.1 seconds.
The transmission is a 7-speed dual clutch with paddle shifters, and is the first dual clutch transmission to feature only one input shaft.
When it comes to its body, this is made from pre-impregnated carbon fiber/kevlar with lightweight reinforcements, and features a hardtop roof which is stowable under the front hood lid.
