When it was launched, the sport motorcycle featured a water-cooled 599 cc inline-4 engine, and had the same body specifications as the 1992 GSX-R750.
For the 2004-2005 models, the bikes got a total redesign of the fairings and fuel tank, inverted forks with radial-mounted brakes, and titanium valves.
Now, the GSX-R600 comes fitted with a 599cc 4-stroke, 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine, and a 6-speed, constant mesh transmission.
