20 Things I Want to Cross off my Bucket List until I Turn 30
These are the things I was to cross off my bucket list until I turn 30 and I’m too old to care.
This year is almost over and it is time for me to check my bucket list to see how many things I have left, and make another one.
I haven’t cross off a lot of things from my bucket list, but surely I didn’t try very hard to do that. Although I have done more things than in the previous years, it is not enough.
So, for 2016, I’m making a new list, a better list that will make the years to come a little more bearable and hope more awesome.
I’m almost 24 years old so there isn’t much time left for me to do everything I want to do before shit starts getting serious.
I don’t want to follow everyone’s steps and get married, have kids, and live forever after. No, I believe that you can be happy without following the steps everyone is making, and we all know how that turns out.
I want to be the ‘Master of My Own Fate’ and I’m trying to do everything I can to do that until I’m too old to care.
On my last bucket list I had the ‘read 30 books before the New Year’s Eve’; well I have managed to read only four. I have to change that next year.
30 is a round number and the best time for me to make things right. That’s why I chose to make this list.
#1 Visit as Many Countries as I can
For starters I want to visit as many countries as I can. So far I’ve only been in Italy but I’d love to visit the rest of Europe’s countries and some from USA.
I want to discover the cultures every country has and to enjoy the stories locals have to share. Plus, I want to take pictures of awesome views.
#2 Make Friends in Every Country I Visit
That’s directly related to the first one, because what’s better than leave the country knowing you’ve made some awesome friends and that you can come back to visit them again?
#3 Face my Fears
I’ve got a really fear of heights, and I couldn’t get over it even after I flew by the plane and rode the train up on the mountain.
The next step I’d take in order to face my fears is to skydive. I think that would be cool considering the views and perhaps my fear will be gone.
#4 Learn a New Language
I’ve tried learning French and Serbian, but I couldn’t memorize any words I have learned. I only know English, Spanish and my mother tongue Romanian, but I would really like to learn another language.
What other easy language you think I could try?
#5 Boost My Financial Stability
Until I’m too old to change something I want to have a financial stability and afford all the things I couldn’t get when I was younger.
I’m an independent woman but I want that to last in the future.
#6 Get in the Best Shape
Mentally and physically. I need that in order to bust my confidence. And if I’m confident enough, nothing can stand in my way.
#7 Go offline
Social media has become a really impediment in achieving my goals. As a writer, it comes in handy that I have a Facebook page and other social media accounts to promote my work.
But sometimes that can be a problem. I got so addicted that I can’t do anything else in the morning until I get my coffee and surf the web. I realize that might be a problem, and I’m trying to quit, but is kind of hard considering that I’m online all the time.
Hope, until I turn 30 will succeed because I’ll have a busy life and not so much time to spend surfing the web.
#8 Stop Looking for Other People’s Approval
As I get older I realize that I don’t have to ask my mother permission for every step I take or to seek for her approval.
I’m old enough to make my own mistakes and learn from them. Now I just need to start believing and act like it.
Fake it, until you make it, right?
#9 Learn to Say No
There have been situations when a simple no would have made a big difference in my life, and I didn’t take the opportunity then.
I’m learning that this word exists and I have to use it. The same goes for saying yes more often. Same problem there.
I’ve got to start giving back and what better way to do it than volunteer? All I want is to do things that are really needed. Offer my help to someone who actually needs it.
#11 Do a Kind Deed just Because
I like make surprise gifts to people. It warms my heart when I see them smiling. I’ve got so many thanks in my heart but every time I’m looking for more.
Starting this month I’m hoping to keep doing that, because why not?
#12 Make a Difference in Someone’s Life
That’s the ultimate goal. It doesn’t matter if you’ve got a big mansion and several cars, what matters is to be remembered and make a difference after you die.
You are not going to take your cars and mansions with you in the grave, so you better start focusing on something else, like doing something good for the world.
#13 Publish a Book
Yes, almost everyone wants to do that before they die. But I want to do it before I turn 30. I’ve got six more years to find a subject and start writing about it.
It can’t be that hard, right?
#14 Learn to Play Any Musical Instrument
I’m not a talented person, obviously, but I’m surely going to try to learn playing guitar or piano.
#15 Learn how to Cook
I don’t mean basic cooking like French fries or some other things everyone knows how to make. I want to take some cooking lessons somewhere. It sounds kind of nice if I think about it.
Until then, I want to bake a cake for someone special. It has been on my bucket list for several years now, and I couldn’t get the chance to do it yet.
#16 Be Brave
I want to be brave to face my deepest fears and not have a care in the world. I want to be brave enough to follow my dreams.
#17 Adopt a Rescued Pet
It is like saving a life. I’ve seen dozens of pictures of happy pets after the adoption. All I need is a pet to rescue and a lot of patience, because I have all the love that the pet needs.
#18 Invest in Something
I don’t know in what yet, but I’ll know it when I see it. And I’m not talking about time, I’m talking about money. A lot of money to make a difference.
#19 Make a Difference in the World
Ever since I was little I dreamed about inventing something to ease the life of others. I’m still holding on that dream, maybe one day I will have an idea good enough.
#20 Be in a Healthy Relationship
I thought I have already crossed that off from my bucket list. Turns out, I was wrong.
At the end of this, like always it is my advice to you. Don’t waste your life doing what others tell you you should do. Be your own boss and the master of your fate. Set up goals and don’t tell others about them until you’ve achieved what you wanted.
And make lists. Lists help you achieve goals. Trust me.
Make sure you also check my other stories here.
That’s what I want to do before I turn 30. What are your plans? What are you looking for? What are the things you wanted to do before becoming a grown-up?
