Luxury Three-Level Penthouse in Johannesburg

The luxurious three-level penthouse was designed to express and to show the evolution of the 21st century urban living.

Located in Johannesburg and delivering individualism and modernism, this triplex penthouse is what we call “smart home”.

This luxury home was designed by SAOTA ( Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Architects) a studio of 110 young architectural designers and technicians and the interior was designed by OKHA Interiors.

The designer, Adam Court, completed this project for the purpose of illustrating how a family unit can live in complete calm and peace in central Sandton.

The triplex penthouse is located on the 11th floor of Sandhurst Towers and it is a continuous indoor/outdoor flow of comfort and tranquility.

In effect, we created a wall-less 900 m² penthouse, with a garden, that gives the impression of levitating above the city mass.

The spaces inside the three-level penthouse, due to the lack of walls, create a clean and smooth fluidity all together combined with an exotic accent and a color palette from black and white.

It’s a perfect example of art, impeccability and motivation.

The decor is contemporary, simple and elegant. We were not trend-driven but rather used modern designs that referenced classical elegance.

It’s not only about physical aesthetics, but more about energy and mood. Here, we managed to merge the functional, physical and emotive requirements of suburban living.”

The team of designers wanted to create a constant fluid connectivity throughout the three-level penthouse and in the same time to give each zone it’s own remarkable look.

For this to become a reality, they used “stylistically different furniture and décor elements” and an outstanding unique color accent for each room.

“We created a continual flow from zone to zone, utilizing materials that emphasized the sense of space, transparency and reflection.

We introduced organic textural / tactile elements through the use of timber and flamed granite to soften and add a counterpoint to the contemporary drama.”

The interior design of the triplex penthouse is simple and elegant going hand-to-hand with a classical soft elegance.

Being one of Johannesburg’s most finest and luxurious homes this residence is the perfect example of suburban living at its best.
