Almost 15% of Iceland’s surface is covered by lakes and glaciers. So you think Iceland is the land of ice? Think again. Iceland is the home to more than 100 volcanic mountains.
This country may be the example of healthy living country in both physical and mental. The Icelandic government has banned prostitution since 2009. And the people don’t eat ugly food. Yep, they threw lobster back into the ocean.
Icelandic people have 82 years of life expectancy. There are many solid reasons to support this fact. One of them is becoming the world’s second highest life quality according to Economist Intelligence Index.
That is not the only recognition that Iceland received. In terms of Human Development Index, this country was the world’s best in 2007 and 2008. Same goes to its Global Peace Index in 2011 and 2012.
