1Rao’s, New York City – Limited
Established in 1896 by Charles Rao, Rao’s is currently owned by Frank Pelligrino, dubbed ‘Frankie No’, due to his response to a reservations request.
Opened from Mondays to Saturdays, from 10 AM to 10 PM, Rao’s is always full of people who seek to enjoy the restaurant’s southern Italian cuisine.
A dinner cost over $100 per guest, but it’s really an honor to dine at this exclusive restaurant.
Among guests dining at Rao’s are included celebrities such as Woody Allen, and politicians such as Bill Clinton.
Over time the regulars of Rao’s have semi-permanent reservations. And God forbid they won’t come on a certain date. The reservations will be offered to their friends.
These semi-permanent reservations are paid for a year in advance and can cost up to $25.000 annually, for a table of 4.
So you can say that Rao’s actually a semi-private club and to get a seat at Rao’s you’ll need to know someone one the inside.
