Yamaha OX99-11

The 90’s was a period where every odd looking car was supposed to represent the future, but this model wasn’t so futuristic from some people’s point of view.

Considered ugly, with poor investments in the looks of the car, the Yamaha OX99-11 was a failure sports car that never ended in mass production.

The reason this prototype appeared was because the Yamaha considered at that time that they had enough experience in the Formula 1 circuit that they could offer the public a similar taste of big engines and good looks.

But instead they ended up with a tandem seat, a deformed cockpit placed in the middle of a 4 by 2,2 meter piece of flat carbon with no appealing aspect.

The possible asking price for such an ugly car at that time was $800,000, but the Yamaha shut down the project and they were made only 3.
