5. St. Valentine’s Day in Saudi Arabia
How can someone ban Valentine’s Day? The Saudi Arabian government felt that the celebration of St. Valentine’s Day is completely against their rules and believes, against Islamic beliefs. Everything related to Valentine’s Day is banned, on February 14th in Saudi Arabia is no Valentine’s day, everything is normal and ordinary.
You don’t see anything red and sparkle and nothing to celebrate the love of two people, nothing at all, just empty streets. This did however, lead to a flourishing black market.
