The most expensive Jeep ever sold at public auction, as far as we can document, is a 2024 Jeep Gladiator Custom Demon 170 that fetched $330,000 at Barrett-Jackson in Palm Beach on 20 April 2024. A 1979 Jeep Cherokee Chief rebuilt with a Viper V10 is reported just behind it at $315,000, sold online in June 2026. The most expensive new Jeep you can order is the Grand Wagoneer Summit Reserve at about $97,310.
This page ranks ten Jeeps by auction price as of October 2026. Almost every entry is a heavily customised vehicle, because stock Jeeps rarely sell for more than $100,000. Most of the results come from a single compiled list of public sales, so we mark them as reported, and we exclude private deals and unsold lots.

1. Gladiator Custom Demon 170: $330,000
A Gladiator pickup fitted with a Demon-class engine and a custom build, sold at Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach in April 2024. Its price comes from the build, not from rarity.
The figure is the reported final sale price.
2. 1979 Cherokee Chief with a Viper V10: $315,000
Vigilante rebuilt this 1979 Cherokee around a naturally aspirated V10 making about 825 horsepower, with a six-speed manual and a custom chassis. The online auction closed after 112 bids on 18 June 2026.
One list reports the sale, and we have not seen the listing itself, so treat the result as reported.
3. 1954 Willys custom pickup: $275,000
The oldest vehicle on the list, restored and customised heavily enough that the build, not the vintage, drove the price. Barrett-Jackson sold it at Scottsdale in January 2022.
4. 2023 Gladiator custom pickup: $236,500
A modern platform with a custom specification, which went to a bidder a year after the Willys at the same Scottsdale event.
5. 2020 Gladiator Overland: $220,000
A five-year-old pickup that outsold most vintage Jeeps. It shows that customised late-model Gladiators are the new collectibles.
6. 2023 Gladiator Hellephant: $192,500
A supercharged 7.0-litre Hellephant Hemi making about 1,000 horsepower, with upgraded axles, suspension and brakes. Scottsdale, January 2024.
7. 2020 Gladiator custom pickup: $187,000
A heavily modified Gladiator, bought at Houston in October 2022.
8. 2020 Gladiator Demon Launch Edition: $184,800
A supercharged 6.2-litre engine making 840 horsepower, an eight-speed automatic, a lifted suspension and a winch. Scottsdale, March 2021.
9. 2022 Wrangler Unlimited custom: $181,500
An extensively upgraded Wrangler, not a factory model, sold in Florida again.
10. 2012 Wrangler 6×6: $150,000
A six-wheel-drive custom that sold for $150,000. A $250,000 figure circulated for this truck, but it combined the first sale and a later $100,000 resale after the buyer returned it to charity, so we use the single sale.
Records set in 2025 and 2026, and the priciest new Jeeps
Jeep’s military origins are worth a footnote. The first wartime contract paid Willys about $648.74 per vehicle, which is about $10,600 in 2024 dollars, so even the most expensive custom today sells for over 30 times that, adjusted for inflation.
Two entries are recent: the 2020 Gladiator Overland at $220,000 in January 2025, and the Viper V10 Cherokee at $315,000 in June 2026.
On the new-car side, the priciest 2026 Jeeps by sticker are the Grand Wagoneer, with the Summit Reserve at $97,310, and the Wrangler, where one source lists the Moab at $85,425 as the most expensive trim. The Recon electric SUV lists from about $65,000 to $67,000, and the Wagoneer S from about $65,200. Sources disagree on some trims, so check a dealer for the current sticker.
What drives these prices
- Customs beat classics. Most of the ten are customised or heavily restored, and only two are from before 1980.
- Gladiators dominate. Six of the ten are Gladiators, and the platform is still new enough to carry a premium.
- Big-engine swaps. Demon, Hellephant and Viper V10 power add real money.
- The Barrett-Jackson effect. Nine of the ten sold at that auction house, where publicised sales draw national bidders.
