8. Land Rover Series
The Series are actually 3 models, the Land Rover Series I, II and III, and were produced between the years 1948 and 1985.
The Land Rover was conceived by the British manufacturer in 1947 during the aftermath of World War II, and in 1948, the Series I entered production.
With a a steel box-section chassis, and an aluminum body, the Land Rover was originally designed for farm and light industrial use.
Its successor, the Series II saw a production run from 1958 to 1961, and was the first Land Rover to receive the attention of Rover’s styling department.
And the Land Rover Series III was built from 1971 to 1985, with 440,000 units manufactured, and ended up to be the most common Series vehicle.
