Today we are going to visit 10 unique places from Romania and see which one of them will amaze us.
For those who don’t know, Romania is one of the most beautiful countries in Eastern Europe.
Across the whole nation, you will find a unique culture, marvelous landscapes and amazing historically important places.
Romania is the country with some of the most remarkable castles in Europe and the architectural styles implemented there are absolutely astonishing.
This awesome place in Eastern Europe is on our radars for quite some time. At the beginning of this year we posted an article with 20+ remarkable photos that will make you visit Romania.
After that the amazing people of Romania had one of the most creative campaigns making fun of the Rich Kids of Instagram, so we have to give props to them, the country is beautiful and the people are fun and friendly!
But enough with the introductions, let us now visit these 10 unique places and see which one is more beautiful.
10Casino Constanta
The first amazing place you need to see while visiting Romania, is the Casino Constanta.
The Casino Constanta is a historical building located in Constanta city.
This architectural wonder is one of the most iconic building in Constanta.
This building was originally commissioned by King Carol I in 1900 and it opened its gates for the public in 1910.
Despite the fact that Casino Constanta was once an opulent Art Nouveau spot, the building remains closed and abandoned since 1990.
9The Flooded Village Of Bezidu Nou
The number 9 on our list of 10 unique places from Romania is the Flooded Village of Bezidu Nou.
This village, nowadays drowned, was the center of a Transylvanian religious group.
The iconic thing of Bezidu Nou is the Catholic church which remained visible above the waters.
In 1995, a memorial was formed which holds the names of the former residents, along with plaques reading :
” On the floor of the lake rests Bezidu Nou. Its 180 former residents, now scattered in the world, mourn it still today. [ … ]
Now the prayers of Roman Catholics, Unitarians, Greek Catholics, and Sabbatarians have gone silent forever. Let this place be a symbol of religious tolerance. ”
8Bigar Waterfall
Next on our list is the Bigar Waterfall, located in Caras-Severin County.
This spot is named ” the miracle from the Minis Canyon ” by the local people.
This rounded remarkable waterfall is almost eight meters high and its water falls over a magical green carpet of moss.
Words can’t describe the beauty of this awesome location. The Bigar Waterfall is located on the 45th parallel north, between the North Pole and the Ecuador.
This marvelous waterfall is listed as the number one remarkable waterfall in Romania and one of the most peculiar waterfalls in the world.
7Densus Church
Number 7 is represented by one of the oldest churches in Romania – the Densus Church.
This church, supposedly, was built on the site of a pagan temple.
The Densus Church is the oldest still-used Orthodox church in Romania and it dates from the 13th Century.
Another theory, besides the first one of being built on the site of a pagan temple, says that Densus Church served as a mausoleum for a Roman general.
If you are a fan of old and historical architecture wonders, the Densus Church should be on your bucket list.
6Living Fires in Lopatari
We continue our awesome list with the Living Fires located in the Romanian village of Lopatari.
The village of Lopatari is located 56 km away from Buzau city.
The Living Fires are considered to be among the most unusual phenomena you may encounter in nature.
The Living Fires can be 20 cm high and they definitely are a natural curiosity.
There are places where the soil cracked and these flames keep burning because of the gas that comes out to the surface.
If you want to see this phenomena with your own eyes, you must come to Romania, because this place is the only place in Europe where is visible.
5Ochiul Beiului Lake
The Ochiul Beiului Lake is a majestic lake located in the village of Sasca Montana.
This is one of the most remarkable lakes in Romania and the water is so clean that you can actually see the fish swimming.
With a green-blue color of the water, the Ochiul Beiului Lake is a Romanian fairytale.
The water of this lake does not freeze during the winter, because of the underground limestone spring that brings water permanently to the lake.
A place so magic like this deserves a place on my bucket list.

4The steam train in Viseul de Sus
The steam train from Viseul de Sus gives you the chance to live an unique experience.
This steam train was used to transport timber and other materials.
Now, tourists can travel the entire Vaserului Gorge with one of the few steams trains that remained in Romania.
The steam train departs every day from Viseul de Sus village to Novat, Faina and Macarlau.
The train runs for tourists from May until October, a couple of days a week, including Sundays, for those who want to live this experience.
3Peles Castle
The next thing on our list is the Peles Castle.
This is a Neo-Renaissance castle located near Sinaia, in the Carpathian Mountains.
This castle was built by Charles I and the inauguration took place in 1883.
Although it is called a castle, the Peles is definitely a palace.
The architectural style is inspired from Gothic Revival and Neo-Renaissance and it offers a marvelous list of cool features.
Also, an awesome fact to know, the Palace Castle shelters an incredible painting collection of 2.000 pieces of art, so if you are an art lover, this is your place to be.
2Danube Delta
As our list reaches number 2 we continue our journey with the Danube Delta.
This is the second largest river delta in Europe and it is the best preserved in Europe.
The Danube Delta began to form in the bay of Black Sea after 4000 BCE.
In 1991, the Romanian part of the Danube Delta was listed as part of the UNESCO ( World Heritage Sites ).
The Danube Delta is a remarkable to visit and you will have the opportunity to see the nature’s wonders with your own eyes.
1God’s Bridge
Our last but not the least unique place from Romania is the God’s Bridge.
The God’s Bridge is a marvelous monument of nature, located close in Mehedinti County.
This natural is made from stone and it is the largest natural bridge in the country.
The natural wonder is located on the main road that connects Targu Jiu with Drobeta Turnu Severin.
The God’s Bridge was formed because of the collapse of a ceiling of a cave and the spot generated plenty of legends among the locals.
