2.Big Spenders on the Set
It’s a well known fact that the Harry Potter series were some of the most expensive movies ever made, but did you wonder why?
They are maybe some of the movies that required millions of careful details and I have to say, that’s pretty resonable, you can’t easily create such a complex world. But besides the entire buildings that had to be done, there were a lot of other details that consumed a lot of time and money over the years.
Just to give you an example, let’s focus only on the character of Harry Potter. During the eight movies, Daniel Radcliff used 160 pairs of glasses and his famous lighting bolt scar was applied by the makeup team for about…well, only 5,800 times to be precise. And there’s another thing, this is actually hilarious. Daniel Radcliff broke over 80 wands during the movies because he kept hitting his legs with them. Why? He pretended they were drumsticks!
And do you remember in the last movie when they entered Belatrix Lestrange’s vault at Gringotts to steal the Horcrux which was cursed and the golden items in there kept multiplying? In order to film that scene, no less than 210,000 coins were created!
