We all love the slightly insane, but adorable character of Luna Lovegood, right? But don’t you think that was an easy part to obtain, no!
By the launch of the fifth movie, Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix, Harry Potter was already a major worldwide phenomenon.
When the auditions for Luna took place, there were no less than 15,000 girls that were dying to take the part! What they didn’t know yet was that one of them was a little bit more special.
Evanna Lynch, the girl who finally got the part, wrote a letter to J. K. Rowling where she confessed her struggle with Anorexia. And the answer came right back! J. K. Rowling replied to her letter and told her that if she managed to defeat the disease, she could take the role of Luna.
Well, apparently this was the motivation Evanna needed all that time because we all know what happened next!
