4. Trump Over Hillary
Donald Trump is one of the biggest business moguls, not just in United States but worldwide too. And by this point, he became President Trump.
On November 8th, most people all around the world were probably stoned in silence like those Hillary supporters. They didn’t see this coming. And in fact, most of Trump voters were probably shocked too.
Trump’s victory over Hillary was highly unlikely. Hillary had always been the favorite candidate. Her supporters were ready to win. They even expected a landslide. Well, they were not wrong about winning the votes, though. Hillary Clinton did receive nearly three million more votes than the elected president. But she lost the overall electoral vote by 227 to 304.
If you are a Trump supporter, then this is not why you were disappointed by the year of 2016. But in general, this shocking result describes how people’s faith in each other has been pretty shaken. This is supported by the fact that multiple faithless electors voted against their pledged qualified presidential candidate. It means that those who were supposed to vote for Hillary voted for Trump instead. And this has never happened since 1808.
