2. Assassination
Assassination is probably the cruelest cold-hearted crime. Unfortunately, this has been going on for centuries. From time to time, certain people with certain skill were given the mission to end one particular life. And so the world’s deadliest assassins were born. And it is our biggest fear that they are among those criminals who are still on the loose.
On December 19th, our fear was realized when Andrei Karlov was assassinated. He was a Russian ambassador for Turkey. And he was shot to death while giving a speech at an art gallery in Ankara.
The gunman, who was dressed in suit and tie, shot Karlov at point-blank range. How did he got in there and not being suspected? Here is the thing, the gunman was a Turkish policeman.
The assassination took place after days of protests by Islamic groups in Turkey against Russian involvement in battle over Aleppo and Syrian civil war. But isn’t it ironic though, that those people demand peace by creating chaos?
