UNESCO Great Barrier Of Reef Coin
In association with the Australian Royal Mint UNESCO released in 2015 a commemorative coin to celebrate an important date.
For their 70th anniversary the association created the Great Barrier Reef Coin, a tribute to a UNESCO world heritage site situated near Australia.
The unique coin is created from both gold and silver, reflecting the natural beauty of the Reef with corals and specific fish.
The one dollar coin was created to commemorate the importance of such place and at the same time there were also created some other coins for UNESCO world heritage sites like the Rocky Mountains in Canada, Mount Fuji from Japan, les Invalides and le Grand Palais in France, with the help of their local royal mints.
