2-It’s All About the Elizabeth(s)
Queen Elizabeth II’s portrait has been featured on many currencies of 33 different countries which is more than any other individual.
First country to put her face on their currencies was Canada. They used the British monarch’s image in 1935 when it printed the Princess on its $20 notes.
Over the years, Queen Elizabeth’s face was used on 26 different portraits in the U.K. and its current and former colonies.
But, not all the countries used new different pictures; some of them used already existing portraits.
The Queen is frequently shown in formal crown-and-scepter attire, although Canada and Australia prefer to depict her in a plain dress and pearls.
Today, you think they might have updated her face considering that she is older, but not all the countries did that. Some of them enjoyed keeping her young.
