6Nungwi, Zanzibar
Nungwi is a fishermen’s village and by its looks, a tourist attraction, located in Zanzibar, East Africa.
It was mostly known as a dhow boatyard.
It’s funny because until the 1990s, its population was opposed to tourism, and its beach is one of the last in the area that features hotels.
Now, things are completely different.
Nicknamed ‘Jambo Square’, the main beach of Nungwi is constantly full of tourists.
And that’s not all! A small aquarium with sea turtles has been created in the village.
