13. Singapore
This city-state is relatively new in gambling business. In order to increase the number of tourists, gambling in Singapore was legalized in 2005. And then, two casino resorts were opened: Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa Casino. They are parts of the Integrated Resorts. And they are the first casinos in Southeast Asia.
Two years later, 10 million tourists visited the country. And they are contributing to a total of $9 billion annual gambling losses Singapore collects. That is the world’s 11th biggest.
However, in terms of loss per adult resident, Singapore is ranked the world’s 2nd highest due to its size and population. Singaporeans spend around $1,100 a year in gambling. But I would say that those tourists are the most responsible.
Marina Bay Sands is the most popular gambling site in Singapore. It is the home to the world’s largest atrium casino with 1,600 slot machines and 500 tables. Plus, it features mall, museum, theaters, and floating Crystal Pavilions. And for food lovers, the best part of this place should be the celebrity chefs‘ restaurant.
