Best Looking Cars Of 2014 | Top 5

3. Porsche 918 Spyder

The 918 Spyder designed by Porsche was first presented as a concept at the 80th Geneva Motor Show in March 2010.

The production of the 918 Spyder started in September 2013, with scheduled deliveries to begin in December 2013. The hybrid mid-engine supercar turns out to be a limited edition of 918 units, as Porsche plans to manufacture in 2014 as the model year.

The two-seater sports car was designed by Michael Mauer, and it’s powered by a 4.6 litre V8 engine that’s built on the same architecture used for the  RS Spyder Le Mans Prototype.

The Porsche 918 Spyder turned out to be the subject of numerous video games appearances such as the Need for Speed series, and also the fastest and powerful road-going model yet.

Combining cutting edge technology with unrivaled energy consumption reduction, and an absolutely stunning design, the 918 Spyder fully deserves a place in the best looking cars of 2014 list.

The design of the 918  Spyder was built around the idea of a high performance plug in hybrid and is a scratch-started conceptual design that turned out to be a vehicle that despite the fact that it consumes less fuel, is one of the top performing race cars around the world.

The motorsport inspired multi-link chassis is complemented by additional systems such as rear-axle steering, and PASM adaptive shock-absorber system, incorporating an electro-mechanical adjustment system at each rear wheel of the car.

“We have now used all options available to electrify the 918 Spyder, working right up to the last minute to do so.”

A carbon-fiber structure makes the Porsche 918 Spyder a lightweight and structurally strong beautiful and head turning sports car.

The new 918 Spyder comes with a ultra-modern interior featuring several LED panels and a large center column incorporated in an aluminium frame and with a touch-screen-like glass surface, giving it a classy and modern feel.

Focusing on the driver, the cockpit has a clear organized design with two removable roof panels made from reinforced carbon-fibre.

Continuing a long tradition of super sports cars, with the new 918 Spyder, Porsche is once again aiming to become the ultimate sportscar of its decade and we think they have all the chances of achieving it.
