The University of Iowa, also known as UI or simply Iowa, was established in 1847 and is the oldest university in the state of Iowa. For many years, Princeton Review made it their #1.
And guess what?! Even Plaboy magazine gave the rank of 10th best party school in the U.S., in 2010 and 2011. Wondering what business they had there.
Among the notable graduates from the UI are included George Gallup, Tom Brokaw, Mark Mattson and actor Ashton Kutcher. He knows how to party!
The school’s sports team, The Hawkeyes, participated in the Big 10 conference and has received high recognition for their athletic skills.
Obviously, their mascot is a hawk, named Herky.
