Okanagan Valley, known as the Okanagan or Okanagan Country, is located in the Canadian province of British Columbia.
Well known for its dry climate fruit orchards and clear, fresh lakes, the region features more than 100 different wineries.
Okanagan Valley is the 2nd largest Canadian wine region (approximately 4.000 hectares of vineyards).
The valley features more than 60 grape varieties, including Merlot, Chardonnay, Pinot gris, Pinot noir, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and several German varieties, including Riesling, Bacchus, Optima and Kerner.
Recent plantings include Pinotage, Barbera, Syrah, Sangiovese and Zinfandel.
Thanks to those winery attractions, Okanagan Valley has become a popular destination for tourists, who come here to enjoy some of the greatest wines.
Also, it attracts seasonal fruit-picking labourers.
